Trying something new.

Yeah, I know blogs are kind of the thing of the past, but I still have one so I will be using this as more of a journal now. A place for my thoughts and feelings to go along with other things happening with our family. I actually miss blogging, but I am not on my laptop very much anymore other than to get Emma's homework and to use my silhouette design program.

Alrighty then!
So lots of things going on in our family. Brock works on base as a Quality Control guy, which means that he goes to check on workers and their quality of work. He doesn't like being the bad guy, but he likes knowing that they are delivering very well crafted work. He recently bought a 1991 Mustang to tinker with and play around with.

Emma (aka Emma Lemma Ding Dong) is in 1st grade now. WHAT THE HECK?!?!?!? Where did the time go? How has she gone from this

to this?

I seriously can't believe where the time has gone and how fast it has gone.
She is such an amazing young lady. She has always been head of her age and it has become much more obvious as she has gotten older. She loves to be super helpful, almost to a fault. I love this little girl so much that it almost hurts.

Now my Lexi Lou Punkaroo. She is a fireball. She is so funny. She is very loving, but can definitely cut loose. It is hard to get her in trouble sometimes because she is so funny. Some of the things that she thinks of to say just floor me. How can a 3 year old come up with these things? That has always amazed me about her, but that is because I have to work at being funny where it just comes naturally to her. She can thank her daddy for that gene. This is just what a day in the life of Lexi looks like

Yep cheesy smile and sucker in hand. Suckers are her favorite treat lately. She is in her first year of preschool and she loves it. But that is just because we have the best preschool there is :)

Now onto me. I am a Mom and all that entails. Cooking, cleaning, driving everywhere. Tuesdays are the worse because of how much driving I do. Just a daily breakdown of my schedule
Tues and Thurs Lexi has preschool so I will do a Thursday schedule
5 am wake up and make Brock's lunch, I used to go back to sleep after he left, but that would make me cranky so I just stay up.
7 get out of bed again to get Emma's hair done, breakfast, etc.
8 leave for school. This takes about half an hour to get her to school and back home again
8:30 get Lexi and I breakfast
9:30 shower Lexi and get her ready for preschool and myself ready for the day
10:45 take Lex to preschool
11-12:40 I actually get some alone time!!! I usually run errands or just treat myself to lunch ;)
1:00 get Lexi from preschool take her home to have lunch
2:30 leave to get Emma from school. Now her school doesn't get our until 3 but I have to leave close to this time to get to her school (which is about 15 minutes away) and get in the lineup area to get her.
3:25 get back home from getting Emma from school
3:30 we work on homework. This usually takes about 20-30 minutes.
5:00 work on dinner
7:30 jammies and reading time
8:00 my favorite time of day-Bedtime!

I know it doesn't sound like much, but its a whole new ball game for me each year. Every time I think I have my schedule figured out, it changes. I can't wait until both girls are in school all day so my schedule with stay the same for a while. But then again, I am in no rush for them to grow up.

I absolutely love my life. I'm not sure what has changed or how I have changed it, but I feel so much happier in my life than I used to. My life had never been bad by any means, but I just appreciate everything so much more. Brock and I have always had a good marriage, but lately we have been GREAT! We appreciate each other so much more, not that we didn't before. But something has changed for us and I can't figure out what it is. But I shouldn't mind so much as long as it continues.

Well this is enough for now I think. Hopefully I can and will continue this "journaling". I have always wanted to journal but I have never been able to stick to it.

OH I forgot to mention that we got two new Nieces this year, one on Brock's side, Rosie Arlene Petersen, and one on  my side Juliet Brielle Haworth. We were lucky enough to be able to meet them both this last month. BJ, Zoey and Rosie live in Effingham, IL about 1200 miles away. Justin, Allison, Landon, and Juliet live in Avondale, AZ about 800 miles away, so we were very lucky to be able to see all of them recently.
